Wigan Athletic: Loan Watch: 11/02/17
Welcome to a catch up with all of the Latics players out on loan across the Football League, non-league and SPFL.
First of all, we start with the lads who are currently out on loan in the English non-league.

Sam Cosgrove’s North Ferriby lost 1-0 to Braintree United, with the young striker not featuring from the bench.
Danny Whitehead’s Macclesfield Town drew with Torquay United, with midfielder Whitehead not involved in the squad. The creative player needs a hernia operation which will keep him out of action for a few weeks, as revealed by Silkmen manager John Askey

Danny O’Brien’s Chester FC fell to a 1-2 defeat against Gateshead FC, as Burrow’s 63rd minute goal proves to be the winner. Academy product O’Brien did not feature and wasn’t included in the matchday squad.
In League One, Nathan Bryne did not feature in the matchday squad in Charlton’s 1-1 draw at AFC Wimbledon.


Striker Kaiyne Woolery played 90 minutes in Forest Green Rovers 2-0 victory over Boreham Wood in the Vanarama National League.

Moving to the Welsh Premier Division, Dan Lavercombe’s Rhyl FC was defeated 3-2 by Newtown AFC, in which Lavercombe started and played the full match, however was unable to prevent defeat.

In the William Hill Scottish Cup, Billy McKay featured in Inverness CT’s 6-0 defeat to Celtic FC at Parkhead. McKay played 64 minutes before making way for Dean Ebbe.

In League Two, Wigan Athletic loan duo Jordan Flores and Samni Odelusi both were on the scoresheet in Blackpool FC’s 4-1 victory at Carlisle United.

Wigan supporter Jordan Flores played the full game, scoring a lovely finish into the bottom corner in the 56th minute. Flores, was key to Blackpool’s victory, and was voted man-of-the-match on Blackpool’s social media accounts. Flores was also included in the Football League Paper’s League Two, team of the week.

Winger Sanmi Odelusi was introduced in the 61st minute for Brad Potts, and scored his first goal for the Tangerines in the 83rd minute as he prayed on a Carlisle United defensive error.

With the win, Blackpool moved up to 11th place, with a very impressive win at 3rd placed Carlisle United.

In League One, Wigan fullback Andrew Taylor played the full match as Bolton Wanderers eased to a 4-1 victory against Walsall FC at the Macron Stadium. Taylor is believed to have played a solid role in Bolton’s defence from our sources, and only conceded to a Erhun Oztumer wonder goal.
